Project Status: December 08, 2002
Due to my recent loss of employment I am now taking up some "fun"
projects again. This means I am actually tinkering with XGS again! Don't worry;
I hated my job anyway. If you want to help, tell everyone to buy their dialup
or web hosting service from Purple Hat.
This page really needs rebuilt. Hopefully I will get to that soon...
Here is now the current version (0.54) is shaping up:
-
The OSS and X11 drivers have been deprecated in favor of the new SDL driver.
This driver should also eventually encompass most of the old Win32 port.
Currently all other ports/drivers are broken because I moved some code around
to make it driver-specific.
-
Sound is flakey. It currently seems to run too fast.
-
I am working on finishing off the emulator speed control I was working on
back when the project was shelved. This code is the main reason for the
instabilities compared to version 0.50.
-
For the past few years i have been toying with creating a dynamic recompiling
65816 emulator for XGS. Why, you ask? The Martian simulation from Invader ZIM
said it best: "Because it's *cool*".
